This Shaker Lemon Pie is sweet and tart.
There are a couple of interesting things about this pie.
A group of folks in the Ohio area known as “The Shakers”developed this pie
back in the early 1800′s.
Also it’s the only lemon pie I’ve ever seen with a top crust,rather
than meringue or something.Use the Meyer lemon.
Divide dough in half, it’sdouble-crust pastry.
Sprinkle with sugar before serving.
It’s worth trying once, or once again, if you’re a lemon friend.
